As a certified luthier, Raymond Palmer can keep them in good repair, make adjustments, perform a little maintenance, or implement a careful, professional restoration.

It happens. Violins get dropped. Cellos get bumped. Scratches, dings, cracks, and even holes can usually be repaired. Our goal is to bring these damaged instruments back to their original sound and responsiveness.
We perform repairs on:
Violins
Violas
Cellos
Basses
Because of demand, and because it is sometimes impossible to perform a solid repair on an inferior instrument, repairs are limited to instruments from well-known manufacturers, those purchased from violin shops, and some old or antique instruments.
Regular maintenance and occasional adjustments will keep your violin, viola, cello or bass playing and sounding like new.
We can usually provide a quick turnaround for these types of minor repairs:
Rehair bows
Reset soundposts
Adjust bridge or nut
Reglue open seams
Replace strings
Repair slipping pegs
We bring older, high-quality instruments and bows back to their original vitality through careful restoration work. Because we are the only shop in our region with a professionally trained luthier, we are uniquely qualified to give your instrument the professional restoration it deserves.
